Start / Calculations / Suspension Calculations / Side View
The side view uses inputs from the Chassis, Wheel and tire, and Anti-pitch pages.
The Chassis page is used to specify the front and rear suspension types. Only strut and wishbone suspensions are supported on the side view.
Inputs used from the Anti-pitch page include braking proportion, drive wheels, torque split, and suspension type. These are used for anti-pitch calculations.
The side view simulation is based on the following inputs:
Front and rear suspension pivot positions
All horizontal (X) dimensions are measured from the centerline of the axle. Strut position is entered as distance behind axle. All vertical (Y) dimensions are entered as distance from ground level.
White dashed lines and blue crosses indicate instant centers. Gray dashed lines and a black cross indicate pitch center.
