Start / Terms / Brake Pad Friction Coefficient
The brake pad friction coefficient is an indicator of the gripping ability of a brake pad. Brake pad manufacturers are often able to supply this value. Otherwise, you can estimate it as follows.
Street car pads: 0.25–0.4
High performance street car pads: 0.4–0.45
Extra high performance street car pads: 0.45–0.5
Street/track pads: 0.5–0.55
Racing pads: 0.55–0.7
This value is used in the Brakes Calculation.
