Start / Terms / Speeds for Coastdown Test
Four speeds are required for the coastdown test; the beginning and ending speeds for two tests, the high-speed test and the low-speed test. The high-speed test should be performed from the maximum speed to a speed approximately 50 miles per hour (80 kilometers per hour) slower than the top speed. The low-speed test should begin at about one-third to one-half of the top speed, and proceed to approximately 20 miles per hour (30 kilometers per hour).
